Inviting a New Person to the Nexkey App

Inviting a New Person to the Nexkey App

Inviting new users from the Nexkey app only takes a matter of seconds.

In the Nexkey app, tap PEOPLE in the navigation bar below. Here, you will see a list of people you've already given access to. You'll also see the number of keys that they currently have to the right of their name.

Tap the  button at the bottom-right corner to get started. You have two ways that you can invite a new user:
  1. Phone number: Type in their 10 digit phone number
  2. Email: Tap Invite with Email below the Next Add Keys button to use that instead.
  3. First/Last Name: This is optional because once the intended recipient creates their account, their entry will overwrite your own.

When ready to move on, tap Next Add Keys to be taken to the Give Access page.

From Give Access, select a Nexkey device that you'd like to give them access to.

The final step is the Access Details page, where you can determine the recipient's permissions.
  1. Toggle Admin ON if you would like to give this recipient full autonomy over the Nexkey device. Toggle it OFF to give them the USER role.
  2. Text Keys are exclusive to the Nexkey Controller. This will allow the recipient to unlock your door via a 6-digit access code that will be sent by SMS text message. This is best used in cases where you don't want the recipient to download the app and create a new account.

Time Restrictions allow you restrict the times of the day and days of the week that a USER can unlock your door.
  1. None: 24/7 access
  2. One Time: Can only unlock the door once
  3. Scheduled: Allows you to create a window of time that the door can be unlocked. You can add multiple schedules as long as they don't overlap.

Once you're all set, tap SEND at the top right corner to finalize your changes. You will see your recipient added to the People tab shortly after.

Info
Once the invite has been sent, the recipient will either receive a text message or email letting them know that they've been invited. Please note: If the recipient has previously created a Nexkey account, they will instead receive an app notification.
