Replacing the Battery in the Nexkey Solo
The battery can be changed with the Solo installed, though we have found it is easier when removed from the door frame.
Before getting started, you will need:
Torx T6 screwdriver
(2) ER14250 1/2 AA batteries
Instructions
- Open your door to expose the Nexkey Solo. If your battery is dead, then you'll need your physical key to manually unlock the door.
- Remove the security screw on the black battery cover inside the Nexkey Solo
- Remove the battery cover, then remove the two batteries by hand.
- Install new batteries with the (+) terminals pointing towards each other, then reinstall the battery cover
Update Last Battery Change Setting in the Nexkey App or Portal
By performing this step, Nexkey will send a email when it's time to replace the battery again.
- Select Keys tab
- Select the lock you just changed the battery in
- Select Settings and scroll down to the bottom
- Select Last Battery Change
- Select date of battery change
