Power Cycling all Nexkey Products

Nexkey Core

Before getting started, you will need:
Torx T6 screwdriver

Instructions

  1. Remove security screw from the Core handle
  1. Slide off handle (may be harder if O-rings are installed)
  2. Gently pull back retaining ring
  3. Slide old battery out and install new battery with the (+) face-down into the Core
  4. Reinstall retaining ring, ensure the screw holes align, slide on handle then reinstall security screw
  1. LED will turn on when handle is reinstalled. Once it turns off tap, the front to connect to your phone

Nexkey Solo

Before getting started, you will need:

Torx T6 screwdriver

Instructions

  1. Open your door to expose the Nexkey Solo. You'll need your physical key to manually unlock the door.
  2. Remove the security screw on the black battery cover inside the Nexkey Solo.
  1. Remove the battery cover, then remove one of the two batteries by hand.
  2. Wait 20 seconds, then reinstall the battery with the (+) terminals pointing towards each other.
  3. Reinstall the battery cover.

Nexkey Controller

The Nexkey Controller should always be receiving constant power, however they may be times when you need to hard reset the Controller. Follow the steps below to accomplish this.

When should you power cycle your Nexkey Controller?

  1. As you approach your door to unlock it, it doesn't show up under Unlock > Nearby
  2. If the LED on your supplied transformer is blank rather than red (see image below).
  3. You receive notice that your door is unlocked door via the Nexkey app, however you don't hear any sound coming from your door indicating that it's been physically unlocked.

Instructions

  1. Locate the wall outlet that the Controller's transformer is plugged into. Please refer to the image below for a reference - it should have a solid red LED on the bottom-left corner.

  1. Remove the transformer from the outlet and wait for the red LED to completely fade away.
  2. After 20 seconds, plug the transformer back into the wall outlet and confirm that the LED is showing solid RED
  3. Open the Nexkey app and approach your door while on the Unlock > Nearby tab to ensure the device is showing once again.
