Managing Groups in the Nexkey App
Enabling Groups
To set up Groups in the Nexkey app, you first need to enable it. To do this, go to the MORE section in the app and select Advanced features. Toggle Groups ON. Groups will now appear at the top of the MORE tab.
Creating a Group
Now that Groups are enabled, follow these steps to create your own:
- Tap Groups at the top of the MORE section.
- Tap the ( + ) icon at the bottom-right corner.
- Name the Group and decide on the permissions.
- Can remote unlock allows anyone with the USER permission to remote unlock doors(Nexkey Controller Only)
- Can unlock until allows anyone with the USER permission to keep your door unlocked for a specified amount of time(Nexkey Controller Only)
- Admins can modify lock details takes away any ADMIN's ability to edit the settings of a Nexkey device.
- Tap Done to finalize the group.
Managing a Group
- Select your group from the list, and you will see 4 options: LOCKS, PEOPLE, SCHEDULES, SETTINGS. Let's review each of these sections!
Adding a Lock to a Group
- Tap LOCKS, then tap the ( + ) icon at the bottom-right corner
- Select the number of locks that you want to link to this Group, then tap Done at the top-right corner
- You will see your selected locks listed. Swipe down from the top or tap Cancel to go back to the Group management screen
Adding People to a Group
- From the Group management screen, tap PEOPLE, then tap the ( + ) icon at the bottom-right corner.
- Select the role that you want to assign to your people
- Select one or more people from the following list, then tap Done
Adding a Schedule to a Group
- From your group's management screen, tap SCHEDULES, then tap the ( + ) icon at the bottom-right corner.
- Create your desired schedule for this group, then tap SAVE. You can add multiple schedules as long as they don't overlap.
- View/Edit your schedules as needed
Updating Group Settings
- From your group's management screen, tap SETTINGS.
- Toggle ON or OFF any of the following settings:
- Can remote unlock allows anyone with the USER permission to remote unlock doors(Nexkey Controller Only)
- Can unlock until allows anyone with the USER permission to keep your door unlocked for a specified amount of time(Nexkey Controller Only)
- Admins can modify lock details takes away any ADMIN's ability to edit the settings of a Nexkey device.
